The Urban Harvest

Starting from seed is the most sustainable way you can garden! It allows you to plant crops that are ideal for your climate at a fraction of the cost plant starts would run you. It may seem like an intimidating process but it is much easier than you think. We will go over seed starting basics including supplies, set up, and sourcing of seed. Then we will discuss the differences between starting in the garden vs trays and how to care for your seedlings as they mature. I will be demonstrating several different methods for seed starting during class then we will wrap up with each participant planting their own seed in a handmade newspaper pot. Hang out afterwards to grab a beer and check out our extensive collection of seeds that have been selected for our climate and growing conditions.

Limited capacity and pre-order is highly recommended. Ticket includes you pot, soil, and seed for your take home veggie start.
